Coronavirus COVID-19 Office Update

At ENT Surgical Consultants, we want to you to know that we are navigating the current and unprecedented state of COVID-19 with extreme caution. This is new territory for everyone in our world and we have been diligently following the CDC recommendations as well as those from other national, state, and local academies and authorities.

As we all know, the information is changing daily, and sometimes hourly. As a small business owner who supports many team members, we assure our decisions have been incredibly difficult and long thought out. We feel strongly that it is in the best interest of the community to do our part in “flattening the curve” and I encourage you to support others who have done the same.

Effective immediately, we will be postponing all allergy shots and allergy testing. Patients who receive Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) will continue to receive vials via the mail. Shot patients who wish to transition over to drops my call the allergy department during regular business hours and make that change.

In an effort to follow social distancing protocol, we will begin only seeing patients from the Joliet office effective Monday, 3/23. All patients, once checked in will wait in their cars until an exam room is open. You will then be called and taken directly to the exam room. Until further notice office appointments will be for urgent visits only. Everything that can be done via telemedicine will be done via the phone.

We want to limit the number of patients that are physically present in our waiting rooms. You may be receiving a call instructing you not to come to the office, but rather that a doctor will be calling you. We will reopen all offices and will be running at full capacity as soon as we deem it feasible to do so.

Please also know that at ENT Surgical Consultants, we have always taken the most stringent of precautions to protect our staff and our patients from any infectious disease. Now, we are just taking these universal precautions to another level. For now, to minimize exposure risk, we strongly request that you participate in these precautions for all visits and until otherwise notified:

  1. In the effort for social distancing, we request that only the patient is present for the appointment. Please try to drop off the patient at our front door and wait with all other family members in the car. If necessary, one parent or guardian may accompany the patient. Once checked in, should an exam room not be available, the patient will be asked to wait in your car until called to come in to the exam room.
  2. If you are currently experiencing a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, or have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, do not visit our office and please cancel your visit. We will reschedule you in 4-6 weeks.
  3. If you have traveled to Europe in the last 3 weeks, or been in contact with anyone testing positive for Covid-19, please cancel your visit and reschedule.
  4. We have removed all toys, books, IPADS, and magazines from our waiting area.
  5. We are requiring all patient and parents to wash hands upon arrival to the office at the sink area in the exam room.
  6. We are sanitizing the patient areas multiple times per day.
  7. We will likely eliminate portions of visits and some visits in their entirety, depending on what is required at that visit. Please understand the need to do portions of a planned treatment at a future appointment.

We will continue to monitor this ever-changing situation with national CDC guidelines and will apprise you when we are back to our regular schedule, which is hopefully as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued understanding. Our main priority always has been and continues to be the health and safety of our patients and staff.

Respectfully, ENT Surgical Consultants
